1st Philippine International PyroMusical Competition in MOA

For someone coming from Davao City, fireworks and fire crackers are few of the things that excites us after the ban on firecrackers was implemented in the city. After hearing that the 1st Philippine International PyroMusical Competition will be held din MOA (Mall of Asia), I got really excited. I was able to get several tickets (from my friends).

The opening night was held last February 14, 2010. It was very timely for the Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day. The place was packed with people wanting to watch the Philippine Team and the US Team color the skies with their stunning musical fireworks presentation. Each of them performed a 20-minute non-stop fireworks presentation which colored the skies. It was a stunning sight.  I was able to catch several good photos. It’s really difficult to get good shots because of different obstructions.

Thrill of the Trail in NUVALI

The North Face is bringing the third edition of the Thrill of the Trail running series to NUVALI, Ayala Land’s most recent project which is located in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. The Thrill of the Trail series is a campaign to promote trail running here in the Philippines. They have done trail marathons in Nasugbu, Batangas and Cagayan de Oro, Mindanao. With NUVALI’s 1,600-hecatares of land, the location is very apt for the 11k and 22k categories.

The event will be on February 14, 2010. Since it falls on Valentine’s day, the organizers added a twist in their 11k couples category. The Thrill of the Trail couples category will require participant couples (without gender restrictions) to cross the finish line together while holding hands. Sweet.

The Thrill of the Trail here in the Philippines is just a tune-up event for running enthusiasts and endurance runners. A much bigger event, the North Face 100 Trail Running Ultra Marathon, will be held in five different countries (Australia, China, Philippines, Japan and Taiwan) in Asia Pacific.

For those interested, you may check Thrill of the Trail’s website for details or the Thrill of the Trail Facebook fan page.

Worldwide Photo Walk

Woot! I’m excited for my first Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photo Walk this afternoon. I registered for the Makati leg and it’s a good opportunity for us to take photos. We’re lucky ‘coz we’ll be able to get shooting permits from the Makati authorities. Getting a permit to take photos in the central business district is really difficult so I should maximize the little time they have allocated for us.

We’ll be meeting up at Rada Street in Legaspi Village this afternoon. I don’t know anybody from the pool of photographers participating in the Makati leg. I’m bringing my three lenses for this afternoon’s shoot. I’m excited.

Blogger’s Magicalympics at Enchanted Kingdom

It was only last November 2009 when I last went to Enchanted Kingdom where we spent our Halloween weekend.  I’ve been in this park n times before.  I even remember my college friends giving me a scrapbook with one full page of my photos from the different instances I visited EK.

Last May 10, day after the iBlog 5, we were invited by the management of Enchanted Kingdom for an unforgettable day in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Little that we know that they have prepared an “Amazing Race” type of activity for us.  I thought at first that they’ll just tour us around but they didn’t mention that we’ll be doing something different while we’re having our tour.
